Applesauce bursts with so much flavour and goes well over toasted bread, plus easily incorporated when baking pies and other desserts. And, if you can bare to part with your delicious applesauce, we'd recommend sealing them in pretty little jars and gifting them during the festive seasons.

Ingredients
 18 sweet apples
9 tbsp coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
 3 cups fresh drinking water
 3 tsp ground cinnamon
 1 ½ tsp nutmeg
Instructions
1

Peel the apples and chop them into medium chunks and transfer to a saucepan. Now add water, sugar, nutmeg, 1 tsp turmeric (optional) and cinnamon. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, or until apples are nicely soft.

2

Allow the mixture to cool down, and you can either mash the mixture with a fork or simply add it to a food processor and pulse until super smooth. Transfer the sauce to a jar and refrigerate for a few hours to set and marinade. Can be stored for up to 2 weeks in a sealed container.
